Appendix 2 - Resume/CV Parsing

Section Objectives

•Understand the strengths and weaknesses of automated extraction technology

•Know where and how Resumes/CVs can be imported into the database

•Review the results of a batch import of Resumes/CVs

Deskflow has an integrated utility to automatically parse and extract Resume/CV content for use in building Candidate profiles.

Resumes/CVs that are stored in Deskflow, stored on a hard drive or stored as email attachments can be used as input to the Resume Importer utility.

•The standard Deskflow parser will extract only name, address, phones and email data.

•The Sovren parser will extract name, address, phones, email addresses, education history, work history and skills. The Sovren parser uses the Deskflow Skills dictionary, whereas the Xray parser uses its own skills dictionary.
