This section introduces Deskflow-related email, how to setup system-wide preferences with the Deskflow Administrator utility, how to setup User email preferences for first time Users of the Deskflow Client, and how to use Deskflow email.

NOTE: The Deskflow Address book is independent of the Microsoft Outlook Address book. If you are using Deskflow to do most of your emailing, then it is advantageous to use the Deskflow Address book, because Deskflow saves a copy of all outbound emails in the database and optionally saves inbound email in the database.

Deskflow and Outlook Email Integration:

Deskflow integrates with Outlook by providing Outlook icons in Deskflow in key areas of each screen.

Emails that originate in Deskflow by clicking Outlook icons create archives for all outbound emails and also create activity logs in Deskflow.

Inbound Outlook emails can selectively be archived into the sender's profile in Deskflow. This feature becomes an email audit trail.

To Archive Outlook Emails sent from Deskflow:

If the email option is set in Deskflow, outbound email will automatically be archived in Deskflow in the Recipient's profile. An activity history record is also created.

If the email Recipient is designated as a 'Contact', then optionally the sent email is also linked to the Contact's Company.

If the email Recipient is designated as a 'Candidate', then the sent email is not linked to the Candidate's Company.

To Archive Inbound Email in Deskflow:

Multi-select one or more inbound emails.

Click Save in Deskflow.

Select one of these options: Message(s) only; Message(s) and Attachments; Attachment(s).

Inbound email and/or attachments will be archived in the Sender's profile.
